Jennifer Inbody, CVPM, PHR

Jennifer Inbody Jennifer began her career in the veterinary profession over sixteen years ago. She has had the pleasure of working in all aspects of veterinary practice from kennel work to receptionist to veterinary technician. Jennifer truly has ‘in the trenches’ experience and uses this knowledge in her management of practices and consulting work. From 1995 to 2005, Jennifer was directly involved in day to day practice management working as the Hospital Administrator for a companion animal practice in Texas. In 2005, she assisted the owner with the sale of his practice. From 2005 to 2007, Jennifer worked as Hospital Administrator for the now, two locations, multi-doctor companion animal practices. She facilitated the merging of the two practices, coordinated/managed day to day operations, mentored and trained office managers for each location and facilitated the practices in obtaining AAHA accreditation.

Jennifer began consulting with veterinary practices in 2004. Jennifer focuses on human resource management, leadership and organizational development for the veterinary profession. This includes an emphasis on training practice managers, working with practice teams to develop and maintain consistent organizational systems, identifying team strengths and challenges and facilitating internal employee relations and communication.

Jennifer has spoken at local, regional and national veterinary meetings on topics such as leadership, client service, communication skills, healthcare team training and team building. Jennifer is a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager and serves on the board of directors for the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association. She is also a member of VetPartners (formerly the Association of Veterinary Practice Management Consultants and Advisors), Society for Human Resource Management and the American Animal Hospital Association. Jennifer received her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification in January 2008.

Jennifer is married and has three wonderful children. She and her family share their home with two dogs and two cats. The hobbies they enjoy together are: reading, geocaching, bike riding and spending time together as a family.

Christy Johnson, CVPM, PHR

Christy Johnson Christy Johnson has been working in the veterinary industry since 1987. Through the years, she has worked in every aspect of veterinary practice. Christy started in management in 1992. Christy received her degree in veterinary management from St. Petersburg College in 1997 and in 1999 received her CVPM designation. Christy has been with Pampered Pet Health Center in Port Charlotte, Florida, since 1999 as Practice Administrator.  In 2006 Christy became co-owner of the hospital. In 2007 she received her PHR, Professional in Human Resources certification.

Christy aided in the formation of multiple local veterinary management groups in the southwest Florida area.  She actively participates in the Sunshine Veterinary Manager’s Group.  Christy is also a member of VetPartners (formerly the Association of Veterinary Practice Management Consultants and Advisors) as well as the American Animal Hospital Association and Society for Human Resource Management.  She is also a consultant and speaker in areas of practice management. Christy has been an active member of the VHMA since 1998. She was elected to serve as an Director in 2001, and, she was elected to the Secretary position in 2003-2005.  Christy has been serving on the Board as Treasurer since 2005. She also is a member of the Executive Network of Charlotte County and the Chamber of Commerce.

Christy is married with 3 four legged “kids”. When not involved with the veterinary profession she enjoys gardening, fishing, scuba diving and time with the family.

Michael Hargrove, DVM, MBA

Michael Hargrove Dr. Hargrove is a 1991 graduate of Colorado State University. He has been employed as a full-time, small-animal veterinarian by North Shore Veterinary Hospital in Duluth, MN since 1993; first as an associate, then as a co-owner from 2004 to 2009, and now as sole owner. North Shore Veterinary Hospital has been accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) since 1979 and in 1996 was recognized by Veterinary Economics as a “Practice of Excellence.”

In 2001, Dr. Hargrove earned his MBA from Colorado State University’s School of Business, via the distance learning program. He became a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society for accredited schools of business. Dr. Hargrove has been consulting with veterinary practices since 2001. As a consultant, he has enjoyed the opportunity to speak at seminars around the country and has written articles for national veterinary management publications.

In early 2003, Dr. Hargrove took over practice valuation responsibilities for an internationally known veterinary consulting firm. In addition to “on the job training”, he successfully completed courses and subsequent examinations in business valuation from the American Society of Appraisers. He is a charter member of Vet Partners (formerly AVPMCA) and has served on the Veterinary Valuation Resource Council of that association for the past 3 years. This committee has been instrumental in developing uniform standards of business appraisal within the veterinary industry.

Dr. Hargrove is a member of the Arrowhead Veterinary Medical Association, Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and Vet Partners. He has served on the Animal Humane Board for the City of Duluth since 2002. He is a single parent of a 4 year old son and currently has one cat and two mixed breed dogs. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, biking, golfing and reading.

Dr. Hargrove joined Lead Dog Consultants in August, 2008.
